THAMES GATEWAY BRIDGE
INSPECTOR ANNOUNCES EVENING SESSIONS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
5th August 2005.
The Public Inquiry into the proposed Thames Gateway Bridge has now
adjourned until the 13th September 2005 to allow Objectors the necessary
time to prepare their case and commission reports from Academics.
The Inspector, Michael Ellison, announced that two dates would be
available as Evening sessions of the Inquiry for Bexley residents to
enable Objectors who are unable to attend the Inquiry during the daytime
at the regular venue of Charlton Athletic Football Ground, London SE7.
Monday 10 October 2005 (7-10pm)
Wednesday 16 November 2005 (7-10pm)
Bexley Civic Offices on the Broadway, Bexleyheath.
Lynn Batham of Friends of Danson Park, who are registered to appear
as Objectors, says: " Whilst two evening sessions have been booked, if
there is a need for another, the Inspector has not ruled that out."
The Inspector did stress: "These evening sessions are not a Public
meeting but a session of the Public Inquiry"
Anyone wishing to speak as an objector to the Bridge will have the
chance but people who register in advance will be given precedence.
Jacqui Wise of Action Group Against the Bridge says:
“It is of paramount importance for local people to be involved in
these evening sessions of the Inquiry. If you have a view on the
proposed scheme now is your chance to let the Inspector know before the
Inquiry is closed and a recommendation is sent to the Secretary of State
for Transport.”
If you do not want to speak please attend to show your support to
others.
Written representations will also still be accepted until the close of
the Inquiry.
